I've had a Sony Satellite system for two years. During that time, the reception has been interupted maybe a half doxen times due to storms. The loss of the signal lasts anywhere from just a few minutes to over an hour.
The only time its really a pain in the ass is when your watching a pay=for-view movie. I still highly recommend it
