RCA F38310 a couple of questions

I just recieved my F38310 and bought a Toshiba SD9200 DVD player. Here are the questions I have hopefully someone can help.
1: Since the F38310 only has one set of component inputs, when viewing a DVD in progressive scan do you need to set the inputs to progressive somehow, or do they know it's a prgressive signal and not an interlaced signal? (I know this is probably a dumb question)
2: For HD signals not from Direct TV, do you have to connect your HD antenna to a certain input for HD?
