The Genesis chip has nothing to do with the chroma bug. The Genesis is for deinterlacing -- it has its own flaws but they are unrelated.

The Chroma bug is a function of the MPEG decoder, and I don't recall whether Toshiba is using their own, or an older LSI Logic / C-Cube / Zoran Vaddis.

The earlier recommended Denons are one option.

If you want to buy know, and aren't averse to a changer, consider the Kenwood 5700 or Kenwood 5900 players.

Both have identical video sections, and vary only in the disc handling capabilities.
