...is now up to 12.5 years. This according to the linked Jalopnik article, which in turn quotes an item from the WSJ.
Forty percent of cars currently in daily operation are more than 10 years old.
Repair costs are the reason, needless complexity is driving repair costs.
If my car can make it through another two years unmolested by some nitwit sending a text while driving, it'll be 20 years old.
I've always wanted to daily drive an antique or classic car.
