I avoid "The UPS Store". Here's one reason....

I used to printout my Amazon pre-paid UPS return labels and take my return packages to local UPS Stores. These are franchise operations and many are very poorly run.

I dropped my package off at a UPS Store I hadn't used before, kept my receipt, and expected a refund from Amazon to hit my Amazon account. I kept checking the status on Amazon's website but they didn't receive my return package after a week. I waited a few more days. Same status.

I called The UPS Store and asked what happened with my return that I dropped off with them. They told me they gather up the returns over a period of a week or two before shipping them out. What!? The other UPS Store didn't do that.

So I started taking my return packages directly to a REAL UPS facility, not one of those UPS Store mom and pop franchises.

Fast forward a few years. In our area Amazon returns can now be taken to our local Kohl's retail store.... no return label needed. Just show them the Amazon return QR code on your smartphone and they handle the rest.
