About Schmidt was terrible. As a person facing the big 60, I can tell you that no one walks in one day and faces retirement as if he had never given it a freaking thought. All the movie did was give Nicholson a chance to make faces, and bloated faces at that. Awful.

As for the original Blood Simple, it had much much better background music ("I thought love was only true in fairy tales....etc I'm a Believer"). And a few other good lines were just left out: "Friday night is yankee night..." I just thought the original had more punch. Maybe it spoiled me.
