They understand that they have no problem getting production cash from investors . . and those investors want a return.

Give an choice, the world's audience does not want to see "art" everytime the lights dim. And, we give them what they want--big budget, mindless entertainment.

Praise this country's maturing independent film industry. They are beginning to supply and create an audience for "art".

Don't lose sight that "art" is a developed taste and not a mandate of birthright.
