Hi,
there is a move titled 'SuperSize Me' coming out soon. It's a documentary where a guy eats nothing but McDonalds for a monrth. He also says yes anytime he gets asked to supersize his meal. This means he eats roughly a POUND of sugar and a 1/4 pound of fat a day. He goes to 3 different doctors to track his 'progress'. His health plummets at a shocking pace. His blood pressure skyrockets, his sex drive disappears, and he has the beginnings of liver trouble (read eventual failure). He feels tired all the time....except right after his meal when he gets a sugar high. His doctors say they have seen this sort of decline in alcoholics but never from eating food. Now you know why McDonalds isn't saying Supersize anymore.
Follow Ups:
I've heard about this "documentary". It seems to be from the Michael Moore school of journalistic integrity. While I'm certainly not in favor of a diet comprised only of fast food, who is forcing anyone to do it? Because someone is trying to sell something you have to buy it? Suppose I followed the same rules this filmmaker did and required that, for a month, I gambled every time I heard a commercial for a casino or a lottery game? What would my bank account look like? And who should I blame for it?
This is another pointless exercise in trying to hold an "evil" corporation responsible for an individual's personal failing. Nearly everything is bad for you if taken to excess.
