That is certainly a film that grabs your attention, and it has some good reason for that. But I think eventually the effect goes away... I know it did in my case, so today I am much less enthusiastic about it.Ben's performance of course was wonderful... I wish I could understand at least 10% of what the f... he was mumbling. Truth is, his expressiveness was so powerful, one hardly needed words.
Follow Ups:
I saw the film last night too for the first time...had trouble understanding what they said half the time but liked the cast and story, will definitely watch again...that Don character was incredibly unpleasant and I liked the way two couples knew this guy well and obviously had a lot of history with him...thought the opening music was terrific btw.
Thanks! Victor.
Funny thing, The title and the movie cover doesn’t do the movie justice.
I guess “sexy” can mean a lot of things, and so can Beast.
I really enjoyed the opening scenes. I just love out-door blue sky, ocean views with lots of sun, in a great Spanish villa with a nice little helper to grab a beer or clean the pool. (Also great choice of music) The director really gave one a feeling of how nice it is to relax and be away from it all. I've never seen a movie where there was so much emphasis on changing a person’s mind in regards to his situation. Usually in movies similar, they might devote three minuets when the guy folds and says, "OK, one last time"The heavy English made it very hard for me to catch all the words, but like you said, one could understand what was going to a degree. It gives me a chance to see it again, and again to see the hairy demonic man-rabbit.
I really enjoyed the English mobsters, nice change.
