But in Amarcord and later works, he dispensed with story continuity and degenerated. Other artists have done the same, you know, and it's not unfairly to attack a master by pointing out when he has slipped.
Some perspective: I'd rather watch Satryicon (and I loathe it) or Amarcord rather than Raiders. But then, it takes a mighty effort for me to read to my 3 yr. old daughter---one can only take so many childish stories in one's life...

Why choosing the word " attack " ? We should be actually gratefull for his work..ALL of his work..Of course one may find one better than the other following his own temperament! But worth they are all!!!
