This was a delightfully humorous homage to Noir and Japanese ganster movies that delivered lots of laughs mixed with a few, brief serious moments. Filmed in beautiful B&W, it followed the exploits of one "Maiku Hama", a private investigator who just couldn't shoot straight due to getting his finger cut off and butt kicked throughout the movie. (Maybe he deserved it as he drove a Nash Metropolitan.)

The plot involved a missing persons search that led the intricate weavings of Chinese mainlanders becoming Japanese to infiltrate gangs so they could return to the mainland and take over crime there. Huh?

Anyway, poor Maiku just couldn't stop bleeding in this one and it was worth every drop.

Definitely shades and Sake.
