It uses no bad language but higher vocabulary as to not talk down to kids. Special effects are terrible but costumes were excellent and always some monster for the Doctor to save the universe from. I recommend the Tom Baker years as the Doctor. He was the longest running and most popular. Episodes with the Daleks as villains were most popular.It was the longest running science fiction series in history from ~1960-1989.

They are on DVD and tape and while a tv series were usually set-up as 3-6 half hour installments - so on tape they are put together so they're like a film with a running time of 1.5 hours to 2.5. Then it's off to save yet another planet from another villain.
