Got this on laser disc; the Film can't hold a candle to say Peckinpahs "The Getaway" and is spoiled by a crummy plot, but Fonda did win an academy award for best Actor in a supporting role for this, and likely deserved it"Working in Hollywood does give one a certain expertise in the field of prostitution" she is quoted as saying later
A woman with a sense of humor that wrecked a meteoric career by expressing support for the Viet Cong; a statement she later retracted
Follow Ups:
NOT a mystery thriller but rather an action film?
was trying to think of a film that has held up well from that era (when Klute really hasn't) and I indeed failed miserably...
The Thomas Crown Affair (if I might be permitted another shot)
which has a romantic interest with a dash of mystery works far better as a film and is more salvageable than Klute
