Strange question but I'll give it a go...

Be: Charles Xavier, Jean Grey, Longshot, or Multiple Man.
Why?
Xavier: ultra powerful mind controller and reader. Great for haggling, job interviews, selling stuff, etc.
Jean Grey: As above but a bit weaker and with the inclusion of telekinesis which would be useful when feeling lazy.
LongShot: Spend all day at the casino or playing the lottery.
Multiple Man: Get some labour intensive job and finish it in minutes by making lots of clones.

Probably go for Jean because I think she has the best balance of powers for real life use.

Friend: Kitty Pryde or Beast.
Why?
Beast: genius, nice guy, strength and acrobatic skills would be useful if I needed help moving.
Kitty: Hotty, useful power, electronics skills, Hott.

Probably go for Kitty because you couldnt really be seen in public with Beast (and because Kitty is totally hott).
