Much like Russell Banks' The Sweet Hereafter, I loved Affliction. Those two movies truly resonant with the viewer and stay with you. When Nolte's character is directing traffic and he becomes frozen in his thoughts. That is just an amazing scene.
I honestly wanted to cry after seeing this film. And that's a good thing.
