I caught this 1988 film on high definition cable last night. It tells the story of two brothers (Richard Gere, Kevin Anderson) who are left a successful Iowa farm by their father (Brian Dennehy). The father hosted Kruschev in the famous 1960's visit and the house is filled with memorabilia concerning the event. They fall on hard times after the father's death and in an existentiol moment set fire to the farm buildings and then take off on a Bonnie and Clyde type spree, stealing cars and becoming sympathetic folk heroes in the process. Gere is more wound up and is obviously bound for trouble. John Malcovitch has an uncredited role as a reporter. This one held my interest throughout and features beautiful cinematography of the Iowa countryside.
