First, what are the odds of running thrugh a city's subway station adn not seeing one person, even a conductor? And no cops?
What about driving through the city of LA running red lights and no other cars anywhere nearby?
And Fox did not need to jump out and shoot, he could have hidden safely behind the obstacle and stuck the gun aroudn the corner adn fired at Cruise. And done so from about 6 inches off the floor pointing up. Safer for him, deadlier for Cruise. Not as exciting in the movies. I hate movies where the plot relies on the characters being stupid.
