it's part of the film noir DVD box. One of my all-time favorite movie lines, speaking of the femme fatale, the innocent girl says to Mitchum, "she can't be all bad, nobody is," to which he responds "she comes the closest."
Double Indemnity also great, but not quite as great as the 100 page book by James Cain.

I saw an interview with Jane Greer once. She was talking about how the director of "Out of the Past", Jacques Tourneur, told her how to play the role of Kathie Moffitt. He said, "Don't blink your eyes for the rest of the film after you shoot the guy."
It worked.
