The film deals with the eternal theme of humans and their internal search for... well, some might say meaning of life, others - their place in it, but it remains the same. Doubts and loneliness, uncertainty the sense of not fitting in apply to everyone.

That is kind of film I always love, if done well. I don't think it has to do with "my" culture, or yours, it is a universal human theme. It also matters little whether the story is sad or happy.

There ARE to be sure things that I might reject or refuse to accept, simply based on my late exposure to them. Certain things must be experienced at right age and right time, and if you missed it, better just leave them alone. Those, however, tend to belong in the superficial category.

BTW - I never considered myself hard-charging.
