John Turturro directed and stars as one of three Italian-Americn brothers in 1950's Queens who start a constuction company to build houses on spec. The brothers, particularly Turturro, are heavily influenced by their father, a professional perfectionist who insisted on quality materials and work. He tells Turturro early on, "There's only two ways of doing things, the right way and my way. And they are both the same." That perfectionism causes problems along the way for Turturro. He and another brother romance a couple of girls along the way.

This is a wonderfully passionate film, highly recommended.
