I really liked this movie. They nailed the material. Heath Ledger's performance was sensational. This may not be a slice of life that is intersting to everyone but as someone who grew up in SoCal in the 60s-70s with a skateboard under my feet much of the time this was material that definitely struck a chord with me. One of the most authentic movies I have ever seen. And when all was aid and done it offered some interesting insight into very human characters. The character archs were well portrayed. The likenesses to the real people were uncanny.

You must see Dogtown and Z-boys - the documentary. Completely engrossing and a good trip down memory lane for anyone who skated in the 70s
I did. Loved it. I figured Lords of Dogtown would only be a disappointment after Dogtown and the Z boys. Boy was I wrong. It really stands up. The two really compliment each other.
