Phillip Kaufman directed this San Francisco noir in which the city itself becomes another character. Newly appointed homicicde inspectore Ashley Judd and her new partner Andy Garcia are investigating a series of murders of men Judd has slept with. She is also under the care of a SFPD shrink and has been mentored all of her life by Police Commissioner Samuel L. Jackson. The whodunit shifts suspicison along the way to several characters and ends with the three stars on a pier at night. This one held my interest.
Follow Ups:
an unpredictable plot and well paced
I also liked the night shots of San Francisco; the city was indeed one of the StarsThought Ashley Judds old Mustang was a cinematic nod to "Bullitt" which was also filmed in SF
I too noticed the vintage Mustang and thought it referred to "Bullitt".
