his flat, amateurish, almost schoolboyish delivery is off-putting to the extreme. Just listen to his narration in "Dances with Wolves" which nearly ruins for me what is otherwise an excellent film. It makes me feel as if I'm listening to some grade-school kid reading an assignment out loud.
