John Ford directed this classic about a group of people of various stripes traveling in a coach through country being savaged by Geronimo and his renegade band of Apaches. John Wayne is the principal star, but he has great support from some of Hollywood's "B" list actors. Much of the film was shot in Monument Valley, which later became know as "John Ford country". There is some marvelous stunt work toward the end by aclaimed stunt man Yakima Canutt. Somewhat dated but still watchable. Both the Laserdisc and DVD are lousy transfers.
Follow Ups:
I just purchased this film for my father for father's day, and I intend to "borrow" it soon. This is what is great about buying a d.v.d for a gift - killing two birds with one stone.
A very humanistic film, for me not dated at all. One of the best ever.
