I've got to make more of an effort to make that scene. I've never been there , but as a los angeles native, I have long known it was the top house in town.
Back in my high school days in the sixties, I worked for the loews theatre chain. Every Christmas the theatre managers exchanged cards, it was a tradition that always featured a picture of the interior of the top house in the chain on the season's greetings card, and the orpheim was always the most impressive of all.
I like how they have implemented modern sound without cutting into the walls.
Follow Ups:
I posted you will notice a dip in the handrail that crosses the mezzanine / balcony. That is because the chandelier directly above it came crashing down once after an earthquake. If you look closely you will see a difference in the color of the blue glass between the two. That is because it had to be replaced. Unfortunately, they just don't build them like this any more....
