Released in 2009. Written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. This is a rough one to talk about because its almost not there. This is surreal like Fellini wished for on a good day. But it has some really good things going for it. Two to be exact.

One is Paz de la Huerta. Image provided for your entertainment. One of the most smoldering sex objects I've recently seen. Not that I see many ... OK, never mind that.

The other is the cinematography. One of the most beautifully filmed flicks I've seen in a while. Different camera angles, great framing and light, posed positions, color, scenery and settings, filmed in Spain.

Basically a story of a hit man from Africa taking and pursuing his "assignment" across Spain, taking clues in pursuit from mysterious aquantances in very cryptic ways. That's it.

No dialogue details, no details period. Just here, then there. An RT rating of 43%, criticized for slowness and inaccessible dialogue, and rightly so. Praised for the photography. There are some subtitles, but they don't matter because nobody speaks much anyway. Cameos by John Hurt, Tilda Swinson, and Bill Murray. A man named Isaach de Bankole plays the nameless assassin. You have seen him before, but you won't remember where.

In all, its worth a view for the visuals, but don'r see it twice looking for more depth. It ain't there. Very intriguing, very beautiful, but very forgettable.

Except Paz. Yikes.
