"Commies are worse than Nazis because they killed more." Human lives shouldn't be weighed like a commodity. And there were massacres and widespread, organized killings from the earliest days of our species (examination of pre-historic bones show it). Heck the Old Testament includes God's curse of cannibalism.

We indeed are "red in tooth and claw."
