Never did see the original movie, I should perhaps one day.
And haven't heard even of the show yet, but sounds like something I might like. Have to see later if I get Showtime. If I did I think I would have noticed ads for this.
Instead however I do have the CTV Sci-Fi channel with my cable package. What do they play literally almost every night? Elementary!!??? Doesn't appeal at all, and pretty darn sure it is not a Sci-Fi show! Seriously, almost every night...

It's kind of cool, they pay homage to Bowie by resurrecting Thomas Jerome Newton and the second episode is titled " Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed".
