At no time was I rooting for one side over the other. There was a reliance on "good ole boys" as rebels. Plemmons takes the prize there.
Follow Ups:
In IMAX format. It was much better than I expected but left me emotionally drained. I'm still digesting it so not much to say just now but what a roller coaster. The Jesse Plemmons scene was chilling and strangely plausible. Reminded me of parts of Apocalypse Now. Also chilling to me was the scene where the journalists were in that quaint, seemingly unaffected town. Clerk in a store says it's best to not get involved so they don't there . . . Except they obviously do get involved. The taking of the white house was intense as it gets and reminded me a bit of pvt Ryan opening. And the young journalist effectively becomes the old seasoned journalist. Obviously a big part of the budget was spent there.
I'm guessing there will indeed be some awards for this one. Kirsten Dunst?
