I simply don't like the aspiring actor being late to an appointment. Also the guy refuses an offer by a great director. Irresponsible.

This seems really silly. Do you keep a list of on-time actors so you know which movies to watch? (I speak as someone who is compulsively on time)
Refusing an offer from a great director? Not irresponsible, just the actor's preference. And it happens all the time. Here's a list, and there are probably a dozen other articles citing other examples:

As the "end user" of a movie, I couldn't care less about whether an actor was difficult (e.g., Hackman in "Royal Tennenbaums") or inconsiderate. I do try and avoid performances by physically and sexually violent actors.
