The story, told in a series of 10 vignettes, of the life of the kind saint that changed the course of the Catholic Church.
A bit slow at first, it totally captivates the viewer by film's end.
St. Francis and all of his followers are portrayed by actual monks and it shows: the realism is absolute.
Several scenes are the most powerful you will ever see, though, for me, the everyday life of the group was fascinating.
This film is as pure as a Raphael painting, and as perfect.
