Laszlo Kovaks, one of film's greatest cinematographers, has died. The man had an artist's eye and was a superb technician. His work made many movies all the more memorable and is one of the reasons why some of our favorite movies ARE our favorite movies.

His camerawork was nothing short of magical in that. I think the shot of Dennis Hopper on his bike drifting across the lanes as the camera tracks in front of him and pans with him will be seared in my mind past senility (hopefully).
