When we signed up a year ago, the quickness with which we got newly released hits convinced us to keep the service. The increase in long waits is becoming an issue for us. Waits of over a month are common for popular titles, even those we listed long before their release. There are only a couple new releases every month that we're interested in seeing.
I think it becomes inevitable that after burning through the initial backlog queue that most subscribers list, the watchable new releases drop to a trickle. Soon you're paying $10/mo to watch old stuff. We'll cancel if they can't keep up with demand. Not gonna pay a monthly fee for old stuff. I'm sure many will do the same.
When you're circling the drain, it doesn't really matter whether you're spinning to the left or the right.
Follow Ups:
Some one pointed out Netflix redid their service agreement and stated you may get faster delivery at the beginning of your service.
Obviously they have some fairly sophisticated software tracking usage. When I first started I was getting 16 to 17 a month on "3 at a time". They have delayed me so much that I'm happy to get 12 a month now.
I was commmenting earlier that I have gotten a disk from Honolulu before! Portland, Seattle, San Diego, whatever it takes to slow me down. They run a tight margin business but they are still not operating in the "spirit" of their advertising and need suing again--for blood.
