I think if I had gone in really completely cold, knowing nothing about it, I would have been blown away. Just finding out people still compete at Donkey Kong would have been weird and funny.

But I found that out, along with much else, from all the hype I heard before I saw it. Including interviews with Steve Weibe, etc.

I confess I used to be a pretty serious Pac Man player in bars. I could play for about 1/2 hour on a quarter. Not anywhere near the league of these people in the movie of course.

But I had natural interest in the subject matter. And as the reviews said, the people are fascinating. I felt for the guy who has to verify all the records. Watching all those tapes...what a way to spend your time.

I liked it a lot. The dramatic arc held my interest from start to finish, and it's not a long movie anyway.
