The film is quite irritating in many spots, due to its HEAVY propaganda baggage. But there are definitely good characters (VERY Russian...), scenes, shots.

Konchalovsky is good master. If you have not seen it, take a look at the Lumi�re et compagnie, where his short segment is one of the best.
