Water Horse--well crafted. Good story even for adults--the kids in the theater loved it too..way better than The Golden Compass
Walk Hard--Not sure what to make of this--dark comedy with full frontal nudity, but also a pretty good musical. I thought a lot of the original songs were very good and John Reilly does a remarkable performance going all the way from a 12 y/o (well, that part wasn't too believable) to a 70+ y/o man.

Haven't seen Walk Hard, but Water Horse is one of the most thoughtful, (dare I say heart-warming) fantasy films that my wife & I have seen in several years. While I hesitate to compare this film with any other, stylistically Water Horse reminds me of the high quality Disney live action films of the early 60's (Thomasina, etc.) which had great acting, interesting stories and depth.
