It's all downhill from there, dos and tres are pretty much awful, WAY too long, completely convoluted story lines (and lines and lines and lines) and boring. I can forgive most anything except boring.

The first is quite enjoyable and a very entertaining film. Geoffrey Rush was, as always, fantastic. I'm surprised the girls weren't more fond of Depp; every female I know from 8 year olds to early 60's swoons over him.

The first "Pirates" (I) was fun, but "At Worlds End" (III)... - mpathus 18:14:04 01/16/08 (0)
...wasn't that bad was it? I walked out on (II) -- a rarity for me.
I liked III's style searching with existential "wating for godot" ("boring"?) trippy episodes that finally put the series to rest. Their CGI effects are getting almost tolerable with every passing decade.
All in all, not too bad for a (post Walt) Disney amusement ride.
