Mine's a double feature:
"Carny" (1980) -- dir: Robert Kaylor; Gary Busey, Jodie Foster, Robbie Robertson. ("authentic" tone and atmosphere)
"The Funhouse" (1981) -- dir: Toby Hopper (One of my all time favorite actor's moments is one with the dispassionate but creepy and connected carny barker -- the actor's name eludes me.)
Haven't seen these for a decade, and want to rediscover why I liked them in the first place.
Follow Ups:
Carny was a Lorimar production, and the theatrical rights are owned by United Artists, so its pedigree is mixed up. From CBS/Fox video, it too is available (vhs only) on Amazon (I know you asked for DVD). Hope the quality is good enough for your needs.
