My sister who is 12 years older than me were talking a few years ago about movies and she asked my favorite. I said Being There and she said me too. Hal Ashby is a genius! He also did Coming Home,Shampoo, The Last Detail, Harold And Maude and The Landlord.
So many great lines in Being There....
Servant: Would you like a car sir?
Chance: Oh yes I would like a car!
It arrives and Chance stands there and looks at it.
Russian Diplomat:(played by Richard Basehart) Chauncy I feel we are so close!
Chance: (sitting next to him at a table) Yes are hands are almost touching.
Of course there are many others................like:
Louise: all you gotta be in white in America to get ahead........
There are several reasons I like this movie including it was shot in DC where I'm from and at the Biltmore Estate which I love.
