...it was cancer of the salivary gland and appears to have been stopped at least for now. His ongoing problems are offshoots of the "mechanical" effects of his cancer surgery. Both Roeper and Ebert have indicated an interest in future programming, although it's unclear if they'd work together and what role Ebert could have if he doesn't get his voice back. Maybe something behind the scenes.
