I liked it a lot; quiet withdrawn young woman works for the police watching video cameras for crime, I think in Scotland they are called CTR? CTV? CCV? She's sees a man who she recognizes, and the plot thickens as she seduces him, and .. what is going on?? And her in-laws barely talk to her. But where is her ex? It all comes together, this is character driven, the acting superb. The directing imparts a fine sense of claustrophobia that being poor in Glasgow imposes. I like when the director films one scene in the phone booth with the heroine in it.
Anyway, very good, nice surprise ending, excellent acting, and almost no music to distract.
Follow Ups:
the police would not have noticed that ...... Warning, major league plot hole, (SPOILER))
The police would imediatley realize that the rape victim is the person whose daughter and husband were killed by the rapist and why he went into and just got out of prison.
Wonderful atmospheric experience. Of course, anything that shows daily life in the UK is fine by me, I love that place.I wish I were in Bath right now, scouring the drug stores for CDs we can't get here.
.... and it is part of the reason it ends how it does. I liked it too. Understated and atmospheric.
