Awful direction, production design, script, cinematography and, too much of the time, acting... otherwise it was pretty decent.

It's actually a testament to the talent/power of the leads that even though so many elements were so bad and they've become such caricatures of themselves (and are prone to mailing it in -- especially Pacino) it turned out to be reasonably watchable.

There were two other people in the theater when I saw it. Both left about halfway through.

in a laid back performance (to his standards).
I agree with all your criticisms about technical production values.
15-20 in the theater for "my" showing.
No one left.
No one applauded, either.
