Awful direction, production design, script, cinematography and, too much of the time, acting... otherwise it was pretty decent.
It's actually a testament to the talent/power of the leads that even though so many elements were so bad and they've become such caricatures of themselves (and are prone to mailing it in -- especially Pacino) it turned out to be reasonably watchable.
