FX don't HAVE to swamp the story, but I get your point.

I think the Alien series is chock full of FX work, and still have a tale to tell in spite of that.

My take is that Iron Man was just a fun film. Alien actually had - tinear 20:48:17 10/30/08 (0)
artistic conceits (which I think it fulfilled).
