...before Richard Reoper went off the air in "At the Movies", he recommended this film as one the best of the year.
It stars character actor, Richard Jenkins, as an emotionally constipated Connecticut college professor whose life is changed by a couple who he finds living in his New York apartment.
Jenkins does a fine job.
I found it interesting, although a bit slow, and finally the ending, unsatisfying.
I had a similar reaction to the critically acclaimed "The Band's Visit".
Maybe I just need a little more sex and action in my movies.
I'd give it a C.
Follow Ups:
despite some good reviews (not all good) I may rent it sometime though, also thanks for the tip re: The Band's Visit. Some films these days just try to be quirky and moody and stylish but lack substance or a decent story. I may rent it anyway because sometimes that is all I need or want.
thanks
Phil
