is the premier way to see a film and always shall remain (like live music!).
I've found that attending matinees is a surefire way to have better behaved audiences. I must add that folks in this town are fairly well-mannered, in the main.

Here in Washington DC we have one 'real' movie theatre left: the Uptown.
One big room, with balcony. Cinerama screen still in place. 70mm capability (sadly, never utilized anymore.)
Despite different owners and different rumors along the way about chopping it up into smaller theatres or closing it, the "Old Queen" still reigns. With a good print, nothing compares to going there.
And it's done old-style: manual changeover between reels.
In all the years I have seen films there, I have never seen a missed cue, a blown lamp or a reel out of focus.
Now if only there were more good new films to show there...;-)
