Also HBO recommended, Band Of Brothers, Deadwood and Rome. These are stories that just can't be told in 1.5-3 hours. Ditto, on Showtime, Dexter, (in three years, has become a classic). Weeds is a hilarious Showtime Black Comedy that can hold its own with some Coen brothers offerings.
The movie going experience is still #1 for me, but for sheer dramatic value, those 5 listed can hold their own with the best of theater presented dramas IMHO.
Do I have to spell it out?

Follow Ups:
B of B I tried for a couple of hours: Schumer (is that the guy's name?) was too lightweight. Never believed a word or action.
I'll try Dexter. And Rome (I had a classical ed).
Gracias.
Make sure to watch at least 5 epis, it really draws one in. It was a shame they didn't renew it for a third season but production costs were huge and viewership was not. Still it ended on a logical note. Some time compression and some literary license of course, especially when Mark Antony and Cleopatra died. The generally accepted real history would have made for a more poignant ending IMHO (Not classically educated, but I can Google).Do I have to spell it out?
