But I do enjoy the Harry Potter movies! A very guilty pleasure.

I imagine they'll do fine with a summer HP release. Too bad it won't be in IMAX to start, that'll lose 'em a few million. But world wide they should rake in the cash.I never apologize for liking HP. The casting is wonderful. I think the characters and concept are charming and that several of the movies are quite entertaining - POA is actually a very good film IMO (directed by Alphonso Cuaron right before he did Children of Men). Unlike some folks, I also like the lastest director Peter Yates. I found Chris Columbus' direction of the first two...leaden..and Mike Newell just didn't know what to do with GOF. But all the movies have good moments...and then there's those wonderful British stage actors in all of them.

I also love the series. Back before the movies the Harry Potter books were very controversial in Christian circles. Being a Christian I was curious. Not sure of the author's intentions, I bought a used copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone not wanting to line the pockets of Rowling if I didn't like it. Well, it sat in my briefcase, unread, for over a year. Then the movie came out and I decided to watch that. I quickly realized these books are simply fantasy, no more evil than The Lord of The Rings. I have since bought all the books and read them, own all the movies out in both DVD and Blu-Ray, and, of course, have seen all the movies at the theater.
I have enjoyed watching the kids grow up. Emma Watson is brilliant in real life and a good role model, cute as a button now that she is 19 and I can say that. The books are not expertly written, being an amateur author myself. But the world is excellent.
