I also love the series. Back before the movies the Harry Potter books were very controversial in Christian circles. Being a Christian I was curious. Not sure of the author's intentions, I bought a used copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone not wanting to line the pockets of Rowling if I didn't like it. Well, it sat in my briefcase, unread, for over a year. Then the movie came out and I decided to watch that. I quickly realized these books are simply fantasy, no more evil than The Lord of The Rings. I have since bought all the books and read them, own all the movies out in both DVD and Blu-Ray, and, of course, have seen all the movies at the theater.
I have enjoyed watching the kids grow up. Emma Watson is brilliant in real life and a good role model, cute as a button now that she is 19 and I can say that. The books are not expertly written, being an amateur author myself. But the world is excellent.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
