After licking her wounds from 'Boxing Helena", Jennifer Lynch finally comes out with another shot at the big screen. Surveillance is the story of several brutal murders as told by three different surviving witnesses: a local cop, a drug head, and a young girl.
As we look into each account we see entirely different stories and facts much to the amusement of the viewer. This collection of witnesses recount their details to two offbeat FBI agents played by Bill Pullman and Julia Ormond who are armed with three different video cameras taping their every twitch. As the story plays out we see the true events of a psychopathic, redneck cop's misbehavior, the manipulative druggie, and the misunderstood child who has it all figured out. Then, with a few twists and turns, we are left with a truth we might not have wanted to know in the first place.
This film contains so many unmistakable 'family touches' it should be titled "Lynch Lite". If you like The Lynchinati you should see this.
