...about Aliens 3 and 4.
3 lost that atmosphere, environment and dynamic (editing?) that made Alien and Aliens so special, but had Ripley sleeping with her doc, for politics or whatever so three's development of character became the major point of interest for me.
4 had Brad Doriff speaking coochie-coo with the enemy, which for me was a superb character choice (way to go Brad!). Ripley was a nuanced hybrid, and the opening scenes created more mystery and tension than the rest. The "Blowfeld scene" was rediculous. Ron Perlman was over the top (great actor though).
A carefully realized 5 would get my interest as well.
